Thank
you for visiting Order Outdoors. We take privacy and
security very seriously. The following information is to
inform you of our privacy and security policies. We may
in the future add to our policies but our commitment to
protecting information entered on our web site will
remain unchanged.

What
happens to my information when I register on your site
or place an order? |
 |
We only collect the
information that you provide. If you decide to register
for our free newsletter we ask for your name and a valid
email address. (You are not automatically subscribed)
This is stored in a database offline and approximately
every two weeks we send a short email with information
on new products, sales, close-outs and other items of
interest concerning outdoor recreation. There are
removal instructions which we do honor if you decide to
cancel your subscription.
When you place an order
using the secure shopping
cart (visit this link for step
by step instructions on how to use the cart) we
ask only for the information needed to process your
order. This information is then used to process and ship
your order with the data stored in a database offline.
Your information is not sold, given or allowed the use
thereof by any third parties.

You
say you offer "secure server" for credit card
security. What does that mean and how does it work? |
 |
We contract with Americart
to process our transactions. The goal of Americart
is to provide one thing: "Security". We use a
Stronghold SSL server to keep others from intercepting
your information while being transmitted across the
Internet.
All information, once on
our server, is protected from any external intrusions.
Once your order is processed, we will not retain your
credit card number in our online systems. It is
important for you to protect against unauthorized access
to your password and to your computer. Make sure to sign
off each time when finished using a shared computer.
Your credit card information will be safe when you place
an order with us. Order Outdoors takes necessary steps
to pursue all credit card complaints or disputes.
Employees who require
personal information to best serve our customers have
access to your data. This data is password protected
with access only to those selected employees. Those
employees are trained in the privacy and security
practices of Order Outdoors. Back to the

Some
browsers don't support secure transactions. How do you
handle this? |
 |
We offer all checkout
forms in both secure and unsecure versions. The customer
may choose as appropriate. |
 |
How
will I know if I am in the secure mode? |
 |
Secured communications on
the web require attention to authentication, encryption
and data integrity. All three are addressed by the SSL
protocol. To ensure you are in SSL (Secure Socket Layer)
or secure mode for your transactions, there are certain
items you can check depending on the particular browser
you use. SSL mode is an encryption device that protects
your personal information. Encryption is the process of
scrambling data (through the use of keys and
mathematical encoding algorithms) to prohibit anyone
from understanding it if they intercept the data while
it is on its way from your browser to the server.
Netscape Navigator
Version 4.0: A lock will appear on the lower left
side of your browser window. If this lock is open, you
are unsecured. If the lock is closed, you are in a
secure transmission mode.
Version 2.0/3.0: A
key will appear at the lower left side of your browser
window. If the key is broken, you are unsecured. If the
key is complete, you are in a secure transmission mode.
Microsoft Internet
Explorer
A closed lock on the lower right side of the browser
window will indicate a secure transmission mode. If you
are unsecured, the lock will not be present.
On all browsers
Look for the "http" to be replaced with
"https" in your browsers location/address
window. This indicates that you are accessing a secure
server. A blue border around your browser's screen is
also very common when interacting with a secure area.

I
am ready to order |
 |
First of all thank
you for shopping with us.
Our on-line shopping
system is simple and easy to use. We have step by
step instructions posted online at:
http://www.orderoutdoors.com/cart.htm
. You can use your broser back-button to return to this
page or use the menu bar [....Support Service].
Wherever we have
merchandise listed there will be a [Add to Cart] button
(there are a few locations where clicking on a picture
will put merchandise in your cart). There is a notation
about this so there should not be any confusion. When
you locate the item(s) you are looking for click on [Add
to Cart] and you will see the cart contents display.
Here you can view the items in your cart, add to the
quantities, subtract or delete items. You do not have to
go back to the shopping page to do this. When you are
ready to continue shopping there is a navigation button
that will return you to the page where you were
shopping.
[Check Out] is self
explanatory and there is a special instructions box
where you can enter anything extra about your order such
as instructions for leaving packages etc. If you do
encounter any problems please contact us at:
